[Announcement 04/03/2020]. The SISC Special Section will go forward.
Update: Although this year’s Copper Mountain Conference on Iterative Methods was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemia, the traditional Special Section of SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing will still go forward.
This single section will be dedicated to recent progress in iterative methods. Submissions are encouraged in all aspects of iterative methods, including this year's highlighted topics. Attendees and participants of the conference as well as the general community are invited to submit papers. The papers should meet the formatting and editorial requirements of SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing.
For details please see the page on the Special Section.

[Announcement 03/09/2020].
Regretfully, after careful consideration of the recent evolution of the coronavirus outbreaks in the US and in Europe, the CMCIM Organizers have decided to cancel the CMCIM 2020 meeting. This very difficult decision was based on the critical strong growth stage of the US outbreak, the fact that CMCIM is an international meeting with many foreign participants originating in Europe, and the corresponding cancellation of a large number of talks for the meeting. Unfortunately, based on the timing of the growth phase of the US outbreak and CMCIM meeting dates, we expect the strong possibility of more institutional / governmental travel restrictions, and increased cancellations.
In terms of participants recovering costs, as we communicated earlier, the cancellation/refund policy for the meeting has been modified to allow for refund of the full registration fee (less processing costs). Additionally, Copper Mountain Lodging has also offered to modify the cancellation/refund policy on room reservations and provide a full refund (less processing costs). The procedure for obtaining these refunds will be communicated on the CMCIM website as the details are worked out, and we ask your kind patience in this matter.
In terms of rescheduling, the organizers have been discussing the possibility of combining the Copper Mountain Conference on Iterative Methods with the Copper Mountain Conference on Multigrid that is planned for March 2021. Also under consideration is whether or not the SISC special issue remains a viable option this year. Details will be communicated on these considerations as developments occur.

[Announcement 03/05/2020]. We wanted to let you know that the 2020 Copper Mountain Conference on Iterative Methods organizers are closely monitoring the developments of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) spread internationally and in the US.
We realize this situation would naturally cause appropriate concern for both personal health, as well as questions about the possibility that the meeting might be canceled.
We would like to assure you that our highest priority is the health of conference participants and conference staff. At present, the meeting is scheduled to proceed as planned.
It is the intention of the organizers that any decision to cancel the meeting would be communicated by March 13.
While there is still the possibility that the meeting might be canceled after that date, we think that the chances of that happening are relatively small.
Additionally, the cancellation/refund policy have been modified to allow for refund of the full registration fee (some processing fees may apply), in the case that the CMCIM meeting is canceled.
