Abstract

We study the performance of some FAS components in a multigrid V-cycle for nonlinear anisotropic reaction diffusion equations. We investigate the efficiency of using operator-dependent grid transfer operators and compare the performance of full system and point smoothers. Since interpolation operators and coarse grids are solution dependent, we study the issue of when to refresh both. These studies utilize non-Galerkin coarse equations.
