We model heat transport in the shallow subsurface using a parabolic differential equation together with initial conditions and boundary conditions. The parameters in the model may be related by a mixture model, making the problem more complex. In this work, we study the relationships between the parameters and the model output. Concepts from the field of uncertainty quantification serve to explain our work and results.
